NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Various days within a Monday through Sunday 9:00 PM

9:30 AM schedule. Work approximately eight to twelve hours per night with possible overtime.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sweeper-truck drivers work for businesses cleaning streets, parking lots and other paved areas around buildings, using a truck with large brushes and a vacuum system. The trucks remove litter, plant debris, sand and dirt. New drivers are trained on the job, therefore no experience is necessary. Sweeper-truck drivers work primarily nights when parking areas are mostly empty.
Prepares truck for operation by conducting and completing pre/post inspection checklist (equipment checklist and vehicle inspection reports). Reports needed repairs to appropriate personnel. Cleans parking lots according to Southco standards (this includes driving to each lot and using backpack blower to blow debris away from curbs, sidewalks, and other obstacles, to an area(s) where truck can vacuum up debris). Empty trash cans as required. Maintains safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organization operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations. Maintains a clean truck, this includes both the interior and exterior. Maintain driving records by completing driver log and truck performance forms.
MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
At least 21 years of age
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English
Must have a high school diploma or a GED
Lift at least 35 pounds throughout shift
Wear a backpack blower each night
Work in all types of weather, rain or shine
Must have a valid SC Driver License and/or commercial drivers license and insurable driving record
Must have a clean driving record as reported by the appropriate licensing agency.
Must pass USDOT medical physical
Must be able to pass random drug test(s).
